This genre has similarities to prose – it is character-driven. It is an empathic attempt to identify with one person in a fictive albeit realistic setting. Talking with this person’s voice.
The genre can also be used to merge several actual accounts into one.
First person/inner POV opens the opportunity to jump associatively between thoughts and to keep the person “anonymous” – not to reveal the gender, age or other identity markers.
Third person POV creates a distance, and enables the distinction from the implicit I of the poet.
